The other twelve games are the problem. A rival loses and you gain ground; a wild-card contender wins and the race tightens. CheerAssist does that bookkeeping every day and turns it into one plain answer.

The league is marked as being in its offseason and CheerAssist stops making picks for it until the schedule comes back. Your other leagues carry on.
Yes. Each league is tracked through four stages — offseason, preseason, regular season and playoffs — and the picks change with them. Preseason games still show up, marked as counting for nothing. Once the playoffs start, other games are read as “who would you rather meet next”.
The picks flip. CheerAssist switches to whatever gets your team the best draft position — and that isn’t always losing. The NHL still rewards finishing last, but the NBA’s new 3-2-1 lottery penalises its three worst teams, so fourth worst is the target; MLB’s bottom three share the same odds; and the PWHL’s Gold Plan gives the first pick to whichever eliminated team earns the most points the rest of the way, so there you just keep winning. Your own team’s game gets a Must lose tag only when a loss is genuinely the result you want.
